Wildwood Saturday May 3rd
April 28th, 2008 by barnes
Don and I are planning to head down to Wildwood on the 3rd, and possibly the 4th, weather permitting. I’ll be down just on Saturday, but Don plans on both days I believe. Low tide is at 12:00, so there’ll be plenty of beach to ride. Just hoping on some better weather, and good winds. We’ll see what happens later on this week.

Don’t like to be called LBJ or don’t feel like lucky any more? If you don’t want to be called LBJ, then we sure have to do something about it. Don’t want to offend our buggy friend…
I can’t make it on Sat but maybe on Sun. My mom’s visiting me so I have to pick her up on Sat. I don’t know how she feels about going to beach on Sun. She might be too tired…

First: LBJ is fine,,, I like it because it in itself rubs in it to everyone else that I live so close and considered lucky… Second, you guys cant offend me,,,I have thick skin,,remember I have worked with cops for the past 30 years. So BRING it ON> anyway Brian try to make it Sunday and Don,,, and whoever,, that would be good because I can make it then. Saturday is out for me… Some baptisim thing or something>>>>>>>>>tried to get out of it but the warden wasn’t having it…..keep me up to date.

Cool. I was just making sure.
We’ll see what happens on Sunday.

If Sunday is better for everyone else, I might just shoot for just Sunday. Don, whats your plan?

We are running out of time
….. does any body know about a summer spot?? Big field - abandoned parking lot???

I know of a spot near me, in Warminster, which is pretty far for everyone..well Jesse, you’re in Philidelphia right? There is a closed run way which is awesome when the winds are blowing WNW.
Other then that, Brigatine Beach is supposedly pretty good, and if I understand correctly, not all to busy. There is a section of the beach reserved for kiting too: http://www.brigantinebeachnj.com/beachinfo.asp
There is also a member of the Power Kite Forums in Newark NJ area who has found lots of inland flying spots in parking lots and such.
I think it is getting close to the time to explore!

Even my local static spot is about to go off limits ’til Labor Day, too.
I got friends local to me scouting around for fieldage for static and buggying.
I’ll be hitting Google Earth heavy the next few weeks in hopes of finding more summer spots. I’ll report here, of course, if/when I find anything.
We’ll find something.

Hey, I went down to the beach… about noon went down to Wildwood crest meeting place with my son. The wind was NW when I left my house and by the time I arrived at the beach, which was only 10 minutes, the wind switched to SE. crazy but true and then it switched to ESE so we went to NOrth Wildwood. Wind was ok,, broke out 3meter and my son use a 1.5 meter. He was on his landboard. The only problem was foggy as hell. But still fun,, just had to watch out for a few people but not many at all, He got moving on the board pretty good,,, good for him by moving about 100 yards either way,,,I buggied around abit and then the wind died down a bit. No rain though……whats happening for next weekend? I do have some video that I will post later…

That’s very cool. I can see your son doing back flips in no time
My mom’s visiting me for a month and her main interest is golfing. I might have to play golf with her a couple of times so I can get out kiting during weekends. We’ll see how it works.
