I’m ready too!
I’ll be staying at the Apollo Oct. 1st through the 5th.
The only small problem I see is there will be a surf fishing tournament on the North Wildwood Beach Saturday Oct. 3rd.
We may have to do Crest Beach, or Apollo Beach that day.
Let hope we have some Easterly winds.
Not that I know of, but I’ll be heading down thursday night as well. I havent reserved a room yet cause I dont know exactly how many will be going with me.
Wife hasnt confirmed and my buddy from PA hasnt confirmed yet either. So far it is just me and a guy from work that are definitely going. If its just the two of us, dont need a big room…
No deals at the Apollo.
I keep trying but they tell me their rates are the lowest in Wildwood already.
I’ve checked around and I have to agree.
I was there Tuesday to take a dip in their pool and make reservations for 10/1,2,3,4 and found the Ocean front rooms were already booked.
No Problem with regular rooms.
Also was told they are closing for the season Oct. 12th, Bummer!
We can’t wait! Two weeks training at Virginia beach at the end of September PLUS the buggy bash the following weekend! This will more than make up for a windless summer. Staying at the Apollo as well.
so far everything is looking good for me coming this year. i`ll know for sure by next week. i just told my boss i`m taking that week off. no problem there. the only problem i got is my mother. i`m taking care of her right now and i have to ask my sister if she can look after her when i`m away. i`ll know for sure next week.
I’ll be there of course, or should I say “I’ll be here”. LBJ. Got out yesterday for a short bit with the landboard. Wind was strong but direction was not the best. Still got some down wind runs. The new board, “Tatrus” is the cadilac of boards, very nice… thanks Don.
WOO HOO!!!!!!
i`m coming. all plans are set. i got my room at the appollo. i`ll be coming down on the 1st, thursday night around 9pm and of course staying until sunday the 4th.
now i need to go over my gear. i haven`t touched a kite in like 2 yrs and i need to find my buggy parts. maybe in my basement. maybe in my acttic.
its been so long i forgot where i stored it.
i hope buggying is like riding a bike and you never forget how to do it. i haven`t buggied in so long. i hope i still remember how. i`m sure i`ll get my buggy legs back once i sit down in the buggy and grab a handful of kite. if not, watch out!!!!
see the gang soon.
Not sure who has the buggyman trophy currently, but you guys better bring it to the Buggy Bash!!.
I’ll be coming to WW the 1st (hopefully somewhere afternoon and stay to the 4rt as well, I believe Don has similar plans.
Glenn, if you’re not successful with the basement and attic try under your bed, it seems that people tend to store their stuff in their room in the closet and under beds, remember Brian’s room?
Good to hear your sister was able to help you out, make sure to thank her.
See you soon…
thanks jesse
i`m really stoked about coming. it will be good to hear the wind singing thru my lines. the seagulls better watch out cause i don`t move out of thier way. they better move out of my way.
i`m not going to talk about the 4 letter r word. you know the water that fall from the sky. LOL
Been awhile since I was in my buggy as well. Probably not since May. I cant wait. It’ll be great to be down on the beach ripping up sand in a buggy again.
Quick question for you LBJ… Are the parking meters going to still be up? Are we going to need to be prepared to pay for parking, or will we have “permits” like last year? Thanks.
Glenn hope you can make it. Mary and I + a few other Blokarters will be in Wildwood. It hard to leave my home field Brigantine. I just drive to the north end if the tide and wind are not right at my beach.Blanning a Blokart event in Brigantine Oct. 17-18. already organizing the Ivanpah event for 2010
and planning to drive out, to much blokart equipment to ship. I am now East Coast Landsailing LLC, NJ’s blokart dealer.
I am pretty sure the meters are done by then. But another thing I just heard about an hour ago………… The beach replenishment project is to begin this coming Monday and will last into Janurary. They said they are starting in the North end of town, thinking it may be North Beach area,,,,,,,,,,,,I will let you guys know what it looks like when it begins…..hopefully it will not affect us……..”those bastards!”
Yeah, let us know what is happening with the beach restoral. Would suck if it impacts our riding area. But on the flip side, when its done, we will hopefully have more beach to ride on.
Keep us updated on the meter situation too. Thanks!
This is going to be GREAT !!!!!
Looking forward to seeing everyone.
I’ll be at the Apollo October 1st till the 4th, maybe longer.
“The Beach is within reach!
Don
Add one more,(a NEW guy) as me and my blokart will be there. AS for beach replenishment, hope everything is done by Oct, because they “messed up” our beach in Sea Isle City. With W.W. having a bigger beach, hopefully it will not cause any problems. ED
Hey New Guy,
I know you!
I still think about the great day we had BloKarting in May.
Here’s some photos: http://www.landsailershop.com/blokarting_wildwood_beach.htm
Happy to hear you are comming to the BASH.
Fran the Man is coming too!
As I said before,” This is going to be Great”
fran is selling 4 new peter lynn folder buggies for 275$ and he can bring them to wildwood for the blast. look at the power kite forum for detail under the for sale posts.
hey guys
i went thur my power kite bag last night. found it under my work bench in my basement. i pulled all my kites out and found a spider in there still alive. thats how long its been since i buggied. i`m glad spiders don`t eat kites.
i even found a “buggy log” i used to keep everytime i went buggying i would log it. things like wind speed, where i buggied. what kites i used, what buggy. how many miles i did. how fast i went. it was cool reading.
next i got to go over my buggy for the trip.
quick question?????
do you think we will do any night buggying? if so. i`ll bring my night gear. lights and stuff.
yes!, we will be doing night kiting if it doesn’t rain, we’ll have full moon, so we should be fine, if we keep it nice, quit and safe we should be fine I guess.
As far as for the spider, if it’s still alive, I doubt it was there the whole time, not much flies in your bag to eat…
About the beach project,,,, I havent seen it for myself yet but those who have had said that they are not touching North Beach…. they are doing from 2nd Ave along the front beach, running from 2nd south to 26th ave, so NOrth Beach should be good to go. If its something different, I will let you guys know.
Hey guys, looks like it’s gonna be a fun… so sad that can’t make it..still in Europe, but should see you week after buggy bash… what’s up with Brian?? can’t wait to have speed and jump competition..hahha just kidding … have a good time and better wind…
Don i finished it last week. I got a chance yesturday to fly it and all seems good. Ill bring it with me to the bash unless u need it earlier.
If anyone else has ripped or torn kites bring them with you and ill take a look at them.
hey guys
OK!!!!! yesterday i put 2 buggies together. 1 big foot. 1 standard.
air up the tires. hope they hold air.
i found my big foot fork alittle bent. but its still useable. so thats it for finding, packing, buggies and kites. i even found a new 3m kite. anybody ever heard of a vortex kite? made by action kites? i found it in my closet. theres only 2 reasons why its in there. 1 i flew the kite and didn`t like it. 2 i flew the kite and liked it so much i put it away to use at a later date.
DAMM. i forgot about clothes. i still need to pack clothes. i don`t think anybody would like me coming to the beach wearing a KITE???????? LOL
it won`t be long now.
I can’t wait for the Bash – tho’ I may not make it there for Fri., at least not all day.
I was hoping Don would have the new Chargers by then to demo, but I just read PL may hold them up until Oct.
I also will probably be bringing along a few used MBS landboards for sale/trade there, if anyone is interested. I haven’t decided which ones I’ll bring yet, but I will offer them first at WW before posting them for sale at PKF.
Having a Charger there would be really cool, but PL has to do their thing first. And it does seem that their production is cut back on that kite ever so slightly due to sales of other kites. Not a bad thing for PL… just a sad note for those of us wanting to see the new kite…
I might have a new toy to bring down to the beach as well. I’m really hoping I get it before this weekend, but we’ll see what happens…
Looks like we are going to have a good gathering of Power Kite enthusiasts.
I’m sorry to say I will not have any Peter Lynn CHARGERs for demo.
Their release has been changed again to late October.
The only Peter Lynn Power Kite I have for demo is a Reactor II 3.6.
As always I will have a good selection of HQ Power Kites to play with, Peter Lynn Buggys, and Scrub ATBs.
As I posted before, I will be at the Apollo Thursday Oct. 1st to Monday Oct. 5th. maybe longer.
If you need to get in touch here’s my cell # 717-487-8703
See you there!
I’m going to BJs tonight to grab hot dogs and buns for the grill… Can someone bring paper plates? I’ll get condiments (ketchup, mustard, & relish), and take a look for silverware in case we need it. If someone else can get some chips that would be great.
Hey Don, I finally talked with Brian a few hours ago.. All should be happy to know that he is alive and well. However he will not be making it to the Bash,,,,He has had a prior commitment down South, bike ride or something…He said he will miss it all,, but ragden will be picking up the canopy and grill from him. Brian said he is looking forward to hitting the weekends down here for the rest of the fall and winter, so hopefully he will be around next weekend. Anyway, Should I get hamburgers? or not? Should we just go with hotdogs? I can pick up a case of bergurs and bunns in case anyway. I will also bring the soft pretzels. I guess we will let you all know what beach we will be meeting at depending on wind direction.
hey gang
sorry to hear brian won`t be able to make it this time. i was hoping to see him. i won`t be bringing any food with me. but i`ll be bringing cash and i want to help out paying for the food you guys bring to the beach.
i loaded my gear in my car last night.
now i`m just waiting for the clock to click away the time. just like everybody else.
Pull up the accommodations and click on the room type c for the pictures of the room. I think we can cram in everyone if they brought chairs AND we would have electricity!!! If not I’ll run an extension cord to the Mazda
Something in doors would be really good as we would avoid the screen being blown over on top of us (like last time), and its getting a little chilly at night and I am SURE my wife would appreciate somewhere warm to sit while we laugh at the silly stuff we have done.
WOW! Almost forgot about this. Just saw it on the calander. Looks like it’s gonna be BIG.
Have’nt looged on in awile or kited much this year. Winds look good for Fri, so I’m taking off work and heading down. Picked up a few new kites since last fall, a MB, and a new PL buggy yet to try. I’ll also bring dogs/buns/sodas for Friday.
My son has a scouting event Sat and we’re motorcycle racing at New Jersey Motorsports Park Sunday, so Fri is it for me.
For Friday, what do you think, Apollo Beach, or Fishing Pier? Either looks doable. Winds will be mostly south, turning SSE as the day progresses. Maybe do a downwinder to North beach? Coming back south will be difficult until there is a little more East in the wind, but not impossible…
Looks like everyone on the beach has per fit conditions 15 MPR SE 18 MPH Gust
Save some of that good wind for us working stiffs, who will get there tonight.
Hi all, havn’t been on in awhile, been busy with work. going to try and make it down there saturday afternoon or sunday. Hope everyone has a good time.
First day of the bash was awesome. Full on SE winds just ripping. Started out around 15mph but increased over the course of the day to nearly 30. Lots of folks on the beach, and lots of kites in the air. Truely an epic day.

Ah, bugger. SE winds would make that a null problem though.
I’ll probably be staying at the Apollo myself Thursday – Saturday.

I hope your sister can jump in for a few days.
Your mom is lucky to have you taking care of her.

I’ll be bringing a second buggy to share and (hopefully) a tow bar for some tandem rides.
Cheers, j
Nothing to say yet, it hasnt arrived…
Trying to not get my hopes up about it…
I’ll be bringing a LIBRE SPIRIT 3.9 from Jon Ellis (Libre dealer in Washington)for demo if anyone wants a go. T-minus 7 days and counting.

Hey Brian, Can you bring your Deluxe Canopy.
Hey Don, I finally talked with Brian a few hours ago.. All should be happy to know that he is alive and well. i loaded my gear in my car last night.
now i`m just waiting for the clock to click away the time. just like everybody else.
Yeah, I’ll be picking up the grill and tent. Brian was kind of enough to loan that to me for the weekend.
Brian cant make it because he has no kite powers left. I have taken them all and left him with nothing but bike riding.
LoL. I will have to see these new kite skills you stole from Brian. I have been wondering why I havent seen him on the water in awhile…
I liked the canopy brian had so much I bought one. I’ll bring it along with some chips and drinks.
Anything else?
Nah, I think yer good Todd.
Are we going to do a movie thing again like last time? I guess the question is, where would we set up the screen?
I’m in a room type C ocean front.
http://www.apollomotel.com/
Pull up the accommodations and click on the room type c for the pictures of the room. I think we can cram in everyone if they brought chairs AND we would have electricity!!! If not I’ll run an extension cord to the Mazda
Sooo impatient!!! I’ll be there Friday to Sunday.
Something in doors would be really good as we would avoid the screen being blown over on top of us (like last time), and its getting a little chilly at night and I am SURE my wife would appreciate somewhere warm to sit while we laugh at the silly stuff we have done.
Have you guys all seen this?
1400 and some hits on this thread.

This is the link to page 4 check them all out.
I should be there Saturday and Sunday…granted with books in hand for the slight chance we don’t get wind…
Way to go Barnes! Havent seen you in awhile.
Now if we can only get that Brian guy to come the bash would be complete.
Cant wait till 5 so i can gather my things and head out.
