Wildwood Buggy Bash

The Buggy Bash is less than one week away and I don’t see any chatter/comment on the site.
Where has everybody gone? Are Jesse and I the only ones getting stoked?
Check out Wildwood Buggy Bash where you can find all the latest info.
Please let me know if I missed anything or if you would like to add anything.
At this time it looks like we also need some serious praying to the “Weather Gods” too.
Pleasant Breezes Always,
Don

Hey,,, It would be nice to see who is all attending. So if you can sound in here it would be good…. And as far as the weather goes,,,,,I think it will change before the weekend kicks in….I am betting that by Wednesday we will see that it will be mostly sunny with North East winds at about 15 to 20 mph. That is a prediction by LBJ Inc. Had to incorporate in case I am wrong…but Im not…

commenter

Thanks LBJ for this good prediction!, actual this is for Saturday, Friday and Sunday we have ESE 12-23 mph!

commenter

We will be there, not sure about sleeping arrangements yet.

commenter

I’ll be there on Saturday.
I am bringing a friend that has never kited.
I will bring a popup and netting for some additional shade.
Is there a food fund?

I’m driving up Thursday night with the wife. We will be camping the whole weekend, heading home sometime on Sunday.

I have some friends coming in from PA Friday night. They have never kited before and want to give it a shot. There will be FOUR of them.

I’ll be bringing food with me, though not a whole lot as I do not want to overpack my car with food and not have room for all the kites I’ll be carrying. :)

Jen and I are preparing some chicken for Saturday night grilling. I was initially thinking about 30 pieces but now I am thinking 40+ pieces. We tested two types of marinated chicken yesterday and both turned out good so we will have two choices for dinner :) Plus, I will bring some burgers + soda + water for Saturday lunch.

commenter

Sunnie and I are still discussing what to do for meals. We will probably either bring hot dogs for Friday night, and/or bring some mandu. Not 100% positive on either of these, but they sound like simple solutions. :)

commenter

me and jackie will be there, Havent quite decided when yet. We may stay friday night and ride most of sat then we have a concert to go to in philly sat night, then head back for sunday.

commenter

Hey Jesse,,, the little box beneath our names in the posts,,,,can we put photos in there somehow?

commenter

Looks like the box is for a pic, but I am not sure where the pic needs to be uploaded, I am still working on the site, but I wanted to have this up for the bash…

Still checking the weather report… its actually not bad for a few reasons. They are calling so far for posible showers here and there. So there is a good chance we will not see them however this report will keep our beach and riding area more clear for us because the bathers will not want to chance coming down for a posible bad weather day… So alittle cloudyness is not bad. Also calling for breezy friday so far…. so lets keep our hopes up… I think its good so far… remember “Glass always half full”

commenter

Brian,,,,, the long awaited “JUMP” video is processing right now….I will post the link when it is done. Its pretty good,, of course…..and Jesse how do I make new posts on here,,,I cant find the area.

commenter

LBJ, click on your name and you will be taken to the backend. From there you can create a new post. :)

Cant wait for this weekend. Gonna be a blast. Got my friends coming up Friday night. :D

commenter

I’ll be there on Sunday morning. Most likely, my daughter Cristina will come with me. I’m not sure yet about the rest of the family and friends. I’ll bring food for Sunday’s lunch, but would be good to know who else will still be there on Sunday and if the grill will still be available.

commenter

Jen, Jake and i will be there both Sat/Sun so yes, grill will be available for Sunday lunch,

My event tent just arrived so we are good even if we have occasional showers on Saturday.

For Saturday, I am bringing some burgers for lunch. Not much but with other stuff from others should cover us all

For Saturday night, we are bringing some marinated chicken. I am thinking between 30 and 40 pieces depending on weather. Some of my friends might cancel Saturday night camping due to weather and if that’s the case, we would be fine with 30 pieces. I will determine later.

For Sunday, I am bringing some eggs bacon and sausage for breakfast. Can someone bring coffee?

For Sunday lunch, looks like Tibi will feed us. I am sure we will have some left-overs if that’s not enough.

commenter

I’ll grab a thing of hot dogs at BJs this week. We’ll do hot dogs and mandu on Friday night and use the left overs for the rest of the weekend. I’ll also grab some bags of chips and what not. Any preferences?

commenter

kimchi chips, please

commenter

Wow, great video LBJ. Brian, looking good with those jumps, it’ll be no time before you doing mega loops above us all.

commenter

Nice vid Joe. Amazing jumps Brian. :D

commenter

I am goooood :) I felt it was higher than shown in the video :)

commenter

Looks like the event is coming together very nicely.
Although I’m not too enthused with the weather out look I will be at North Beach by noon on Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.
Unless the weather is unbearable.
I will be at the campground Friday and Saturday nights. If it is uninhabitable I’m off to the Apollo.
I will have my canopy (the one from last year) for beach shelter.
Though our Soft Pretzel Connection (LBJ) I should have Pretzels all 3 days and will get any munchies we are in need of.

commenter

Is there anything we can bring? I just booked a cabin just in-case we need shelter for Saturday night at the movies. And, I’ve been too busy to break out the camping gear. It has a TV hopefully with RC jacks so we can watch what is filled that day. Any other suggestions?

commenter

Hey todd,, that sounds great,,,I didnt even think about what we would do for the movies if it rained… but the cabin would work and they may even have an activity room there that would be bigger if we need it. As a matter of fact on Friday I will check to see if they have one we can use.

commenter

For Sunday, in an attempt not to spend a lot of time grilling on the small grill… should I bring the meat already grilled or not?

commenter

Tibi- Good question. I am not sure what the best answer is. While having the food ready to eat faster might be better, and less chance of getting sand in it if it prepares faster, but will it still taste as good?

I’m neutral on the topic. I am 99% sure the grill will still be available as Brian isnt heading home til Sunday afternoon. I’d leave this one in your more than capable hands. :)

commenter

It’s not like we only have an hour lunch break or something. I will cook them on-demand

commenter

You are a better man than i… cause i’d be wantin to ride ALL DAY….

commenter

I said that last time we were there Michael, I apologized to Joe for being antisocial and not breaking for lunch! I’m in go-mode when we get to WW, just can’t get enough! Plus, it’s not that I don’t have a reserve tank to work on :D

Hi all. Name’s Dennis. I’m still new on the website but I am looking forward to heading out to wildwood this weekend. I’m not sure if I’ll be there saturday or sunday. I’ve been kiting for a few years but just got my first buggy and havn’t been out with it too much. Hopefully the weather is good for the weekend.

commenter

Welcome Dennis! What a perfect time to get to know your buggy. Which one did you buy?

commenter

No worries Dennis, we will be more than happy to show you how to rock your buggy. :)

Hi Todd.My buggy is Radbuggy. It was a gift from a friend. I know some people over at radsails/eolo so they send me stuff sometimes. I know most people ride Lynn buggies but since money’s a bit tight right know the Radbuggy has worked fine for me so far. My quiver is a radsail Pro 3M,beamer III 4M, and a savage 5.5M. Hopefully I can expand on that in time. The depower kites look like a lot of fun. Cant wait to see everyone this weekend.

commenter

Great deal Dennis, a buggy is a buggy, who cares what flavor. De-power is something that I as well would like to adventure.

Thanks for the reply’s. Looks like I should be there saturday for most of the day. I live a little more than hour away from WW so probly wont be staying overnight this time.

commenter

Welcome Dennis.

About the grill, I’ll bring a small one too, if needed I can even leave it with you guys and get it next time, but I agree, grill to order ;)

@ Todd, it is OK to enjoy a good ride, don’t feel bad if you don’t take a break ;)

commenter

We are all there to have fun. I told Petra and Martin that day “I am here to eat today” and I sure had fun :)
