Hey Don, Thanks for putting all the picture and video links on one page on the buggy bash website.
I am stoked for October 2nd, but if for any reason we have to pick another date, I am open too…
Sounds like fun. How are we doing loding for this one?
Camping or Apollo, may be we can get ” beach camping” permits so we don
‘t have to break down at night? Don!, get on it!!
hey guys
great pictures and great videos.
i see you guys had a great turn out too.
i can`t tell you how it warms my heart to see so many buggyers at wildwood at one time at an event i started way back in the early 90`s grow and grow to what it is today. when i ran the event i was lucky to get 6 buggyers. sorry i missed it. you guys will always have a special place in my heart and i want to thank you all for keeping buggying and the event alive in wildwood.
Well get back in there if you can Buggymangp! I would like to meet one of the founding fathers of the Buggy Bash and I’m sure my son would as well.
Looking forward to the fall! Can anyone tell me about the abandoned runway that I’ve heard about? Does it exist??
Oh, Great job on the page Don!
Todd, I am pretty sure that airfield is in Philly. Barnes would know more about it. The only down side of that location was that if your kite comes down on the runway, it will get shredded very quickly. Something to bear in mind I suppose.
Maybe we can look at the Seashore Campground. It is just a little farther south along the same road as the campground we were on last time. Rates were a little less, and they were more accomodating on having more than one structure on one site. I’ll make a couple calls….
edit: Fees for Seashore are a little lower, and they allow more than one structure on one site. They have a 3 dollar fee for each person past the first 2, but no extra fees for extra vehicles (like Beachcomber), and the upper limit of people on one site is 6. Just something to think about.
Todd – The former airstrip is now a community park in Warminster, PA.
Map
Parking is on the West end of the strip and is accessed via Street Road to Johnsville Blvd.
I’ve been to the field about a dozen times. There are a few locals that have been kiting there for years; one guy rides inline skates with a Kitewing. They don’t seem to hang around the forums tho.
If you want more info contact me directly.
Glenn, we missed you, I hope you did something good that weekend, other wise it would be a big waste!. To be honest I was expecting you at least one of the days, hopefully we’ll see you in the fall one, as you see there is a nice group of regulars now, nice folks, safe riders, all good
@ Ragden, 6 campers on one unit sounds like a party!
… I am open for all options.
Update…
Sitting at home nursing wounds instead of playing at the bowl with Ragden, I finished another video of pictures put together as one.
Oh the wounds? A head on collision with Corey yesterday ending in a rather harsh OBE. Corey was able to bail out, I was not. Good note?? I have it on video
Anyways, on with the show.
