Funny story, I was planning on taking that day off from work already. If the wind direction and strength looks good, I might have to join you…
You guys are trying to get me excited but it ain,t working.
There is a 70% chance of rain and possable thumder storms (lightning).
The wind and temp. are looking good!
No comittment from me till Wednesday morning.
Mike, I have a Beamer 1.4, 2.0 and a Crossfire 2.0, 3.0. which I will bring along.
ye, I see rain in the forecast as well. Either way, I have to work on Wednesday
Well~ these days, I should say “I have to work, yeah!”
LBJ, I found a good buggy riding tip in thunderstorm and lightning. Get a sharp metal and tie it to the center of leading edge. The sharper and lager, the better. Get a bigger kite out to compensate the weight of sharp and large metal object. Keep the kite up high, just like our spirit.
Now, armed with my tip, you are good to go on Wednesday. Oh, make sure your video is rolling. I would like to see how it went. Fun, fun!
I have to say it sounds ok so far… I guess if the rain is looking pretty certain, it would not be a good idea to travel here,, but we should keep an eye on it. Sorry brian,, I checked and checked but can’t find anything that would work for the tool of death,,would be a good video though……………..
Bugger. Was really hoping to get out there and fly. I’ll keep an eye on the weather. Hopefully it pans out, but right now, it doesnt look too good. I’ll do the same thing Don is doing. Get up early and check the forecast. If it looks good, I’ll be there.
Reviewing predicted weather conditions for tomorrow… it looks like a good part of the day is supposed to be “light rain”. Which… might be rideable? A good strong south wind (22mph) seems constant all day, according to the prediction. If that rain lets up, it could be a lot of fun.. if it doesnt… I’m not sure I want to drive 4 hrs to sit in the rain… I’ll take another look before I go to bed tonight, and maybe a look early in the morning… but if I had to make a decision right now, I’d say I’m not going anywhere…
It’s a NO for me.
We are talking definite rain.
Saturday and Sunday look good weather wise.
Just need the wind to fill in a bit.
Always hoping for wind.
Yeah…. I see that too… If the snow falls through, and the winds look good, I just might make the trip this weekend.. just one problem… isnt low tide early in the morning? Like 0800 one morning and 0700 the other? That is really early for me to make it out there… I’ll have to look at how good the winds are, and how to make it around those tides… We’ll just have to see.. Thanks for the heads up Don.
Hey ragden,, this weekend low tides : Sat around 3pm and Sunday around 4pm. which isn’t that bad,,,,1pm Sat should be ridable and 2pm sun would be good…yes tomorrow looks like crap as far as rain goes…wouldn’t be worth the long ride,,,,
wow.. i totally misread tides… again… *sigh* If we arent going to New York…. i’ll see about heading out… pending wind cooperation…
You know I just typed up a long story about todays adventures on North Beach and then the website went down,,,,Im post was lost,,, so here is the condensed version>>>>>>>>>. Hit beach at 12:30pm for two hours with blokart,,, kicked assssss……..up and down,, wind moving fast,,,,good day for learning the control,, able to go as fast as I wanted while maintaing control,,,,,,,,,,I got it down now I think……no rain all day………….just strong south wind…………..hope to see you guys down here soon,,, it was warm too……
no rain? at all?
DAGGNAMIT.
no rain today? wow.
nope,,, had rain around 8am, then stopped by 9am. 12:30pm it was dry and didn’t start raining again until about 8pm………
Any videos? If you can put the camera on top of the master, that would be awesome!
Hey do you mean “Mast”? or is it also called Master? Either way I think that would be cool also. i will have to try it. Hey Don if you get the chance could you send back that 2G memory card for my vid cam? Thanks.
it’s spelled “master” in my sail dictionary
Brian: Is that the US version of the sail dictionary?
My book says “MAST”
LBJ: Card is on the way.
Happy you have a good Wednesday. I was hoping the wether would clear up it’s act for you.
I’m now looking at Saturday and Sunday, wind’s too lite now.
Carry ON !
You guys are so mean
When/If I ever buy a blokart, I will put a sticker that says “master” on the mast.
Ryan, Michael, and I are driving up to Tug Hill again tonight for snowkiting. Got a call from a local saying they had 8 inch snow last night so we made another last minute decision.
So long suckers!
Brian, where do you guys stay when your up there? I might be in and head up tonight also. If i do id like to hook up with you guys. When are you leaving? How do you go to get up there?
Drop me and email with your #. Snoboarders@comcast.net
what ta freak man!!!!!! Where is this Tug Hill and how long of a drive from Philadelphia is it?
I just did a mapquest and its saying about 387 miles from me…. 6hrs of driving………..I can talk to some of my Amish friends in Lancaster and see if they would let us ride on thier land once they get snow……..
Yes please Joe, do that!!!, Amish is nice and close for me and Don….
I’d love to do the Tug Hill thing this winter sometimes, but for last minute decisions… Lancaster/Amish land would win it…..
Any cool winter camping spots up there?? or other good suggestions… (I like motels and hotels too thought, but though camping in the snow could be fun too
)..
Do you guys have someone for pretzels??, hahahha.
I might do Wildwood this Sunday, depends on wind but also on what I get done at home tomorrow… We’ll see…
Hey Jesse, I will do that. I will talk to a few that I know….Can only get them on the phone at certain times during the morning but I will do it….There are a number of motels around the area or within 15 mins driving, of the places where my friends live. This area would be real close for Brian also… I will be here all weekend so let me know if your coming down….I think low tide is around 2 to 3 pm and the wind so far does not look bad for Sunday………
Just came back from Tug Hill. It’s still early season for snowkiting and that’s way it’s been last minute decisions.
We will visit Tug Hill, NY or Lake Champlain, VT on mid Jan again. Hope you guy can join us next time. I am telling you, it’s freaking fun! Most of all, you don’t need master or boom!!!
