I will be there, possibly both days. I’ve got to have revenge sessions…

commenter

I’ll bring the wind. :)

commenter

Can you guys play together nicely? Am I going to have to keep you two seperated?

commenter

Wind predictions for this weekend do not look too promising. Hopefully we will get something to play with.

Yes, I can play nicely. I think… :)

commenter

What did I miss? Is it wind vs ragden? From what I experienced ragden brings more wind than anybody else. So, we need to keep him.

commenter

I think lbj was concerned about our little… discussion about yesterday’s wind predictions. No worries. All in good fun. I really hope the winds pick up for Saturday. Though a prediction of 8mph E winds will probably be higher once we are on the beach. As long as it is coming off the water, it will be fun… Would just be nice to see a stronger prediction…

commenter

Hey, Does anyone have an extra harness I could borrow? I have the seat harness, the one that you step into but it is really uncomfortable when I buggy with it. It diggs into my stomach for some reason. It works ok when I stand, static flying or landboard but when I sit down in buggy it sucks. So if anyone has an extra one that goes around your waist that I could use it would be greatly appreciated. Let me know…

commenter

I can bring mine out next time.

commenter

Thanks,,,,I think we should do up some burgers this weekend. If Vicky comes down i will get the veggie burgers also.

commenter

Sounds like a plan. Extra harness and grill, coming up!

commenter

LBJ, are you using a pad under the spreader bar? If not, adding one should help.
Sadly, I am working Fri-Sun so no joy. But I head down to Sarasota, FL on Sunday night…I should be out in the middle of Sarasota Bay on Monday morning doing some traditional sailing. Woohoo!

commenter

I am not sure what is under it,,,I am pretty sure,,because its out in my shed right now, that there is something under the speader bar,,,but I think its the top edge of the harness itself that diggs in as I sit. Legs push it up…as I said its no problem as I stand but bending over is where the pain kicks in…..

commenter

We may head down there on Sunday… Have to tell some story at work, to get day off…. should make it…finally my board is ready ….so Brian we can both ride.hahaha
see you all there…….

commenter

Alright! Landboard race is on!!!

dillon, sailing sounds fun. Bring some sunshine and warm weather back from FL.

commenter

Hello? Did someone mention veggie burgers?
I am invited back?
If there’s grillin, I will get my butt into a buggy…… no messing around in that crazy water this time, promise:-0

commenter

lol
We’ll have buggies, harnesses.. and my buggy will go faster than yer silly landboards.. :)

commenter

I thought you said you could “play nicely?”

commenter

“KIDS so help me god” “If I have to pull this forum over” You better stop fighting right now Misters!

commenter

He said he “could” play nicely.

commenter

Okay, you are right. There is nothing silly about landboards. It would be kind of interesting to see a “landboard race”. Though I may have to sit this one out (the race that is), as I dont really feel like getting dragged down the beach on my face (that and I dont have a board).

If the weather report doesnt change soon, we might not be doing much of anything. High wind prediction for Saturday is 5mph at 8pm. I really hope that changes. Sunday looks a little better, but not much.

commenter

I’d love to come, but winds don’t justify the trip for me this week end.. hmmm you guys were talking about burgers too…. I’ll play it by ear.. Also if there is no wind, may be we could organize a fight competitions (wrestling, boxing, kick boxing) just to take the aggression out of you guys……

Will keep you guys posted….

commenter

he guys. my friends and i are going camping again this weekend at cape henlopen. maybe i can get them to take the ferry across and come hang with you all.

commenter

Hey Stackflyer, that would be cool… hopefully the wind will cooperate and make the trip worth it for all you guys. I know how much it sucks when I have to drive my “15 minutes” to get to the beach and there is no wind….ha ha ha ha ha ha ……well enough of rubbing it in….

commenter

I’ll try to remember to put a frisbee in the trunk before I head out. Might be nice to have something to do if the winds dont cooperate…

commenter

wrestling and veggie burgers? Wow..right up my street!

commenter

we will see. it is an expensive ferry ride. I think its 70 dollars round trip. if we all go in one car and split the cost, it may be worth it.

commenter

Based on wind forecast, I am out for Saturday but possibly for Sunday.

commenter

I was planning on taking Brian and Ragden’s invites and go on Saturday, but since Brain and the wind are out I might not make the trip.

Besides…I only get my 1st kite on Tuesday of next week.

I’ll see what changes between now and then.

Joe

commenter

Feels odd posting w/out introducing myself 1st.

I just joined the forum this week – I’m Joe from Philadelphia.

commenter

Joe!!, Welcome!!

I am Jesse from Downingtown.

I hope to see you one of these days at WW..

Not sure yet about the week end, but WWBB we’ll be on!!!!!!!!!!

commenter

Sunday might still be a go. Really depends on the winds. If we can get a prediction of more than 10mph of wind for Sunday, I’m sure you’ll find some folks there. :)

commenter

Oh my god what a bunch of crying babies!!!!!! Only kidding,,,,, lets give the wind predictions one more day…..Friday… and hopefully it will change….It would stink if you guys and girls made the long hual here for no wind…. Did I mention “pretzels”?

commenter

Uh-oh. Another Joe from Philly.

Welcome Joe, I’m also Joe from Philadelphia. I guess I’ll be Dillon from now on.

Cheers

commenter

Thanks for the welcomes….no need to change your name to trhough Dillon.

I can go by Joe-mama or maybe even
Mister Popincollins…yes, that has a nice ring to it!

commenter

We could just call you Furlongs… :)

commenter

Joe – You can get me at: dillon 2 three (at) com cast dot net
Us Philly boys need to stick together.

commenter

Jesse i didnt know you were from downingtown. Heck im right up the street in Coatesville.

commenter

Looking at wind predictions for this weekend again. Saturday is looking like steady NE winds at 6mph all day. Not quite enough to really get going unless you are flying something monstrously large.

Sunday looks better, but still not much better. 9mph in the morning tapering off in the afternoon down to 4mph by 2000hrs (8pm).

commenter

Sunday rain. That leave us only Saturday but wind doesn’t look good… :(

commenter

The chance of rain is less than 50%. It’ll only rain if we show up… ;)

commenter

Besides that overcast effect will help keep the beachgoers at bay giving us more effective beach. I dont mind a little sprinkle here and there. Its only light rain, our kites would dry almost instantly.

I’m still game if you wanna give it a go.. :)

commenter

Hey,, North East wind is the best for North Beach. if they are predicting 6mph winds its always alittle more than that. But lets see what the last minute reports say.

commenter

This is getting long!1, 42 comments so far and still undecided ;)

4 or 5 mph will not work to well for me, I almost lost faith but I’ll keep watching.

@ snobdr Coatesville is around the corner. do you know of any spots close by? I have been thinking about the sports field at United Sports, but I guess they’ll never let us ..

Good to have someone close by, also let me know when you are going to WW and if you need a ride, usually I carpool with Don, he comes from York rides 30 and picks me up, if he’s not around or doesn’t go, I ride by myself, once or twice a year my wife comes along….

commenter

Being skunked 3 times last week, I think I am staying home this weekend :(

commenter

Whatever! I tell you what….lets check the last minute reports tonight…I have to go into work tomorrow from 10am to 1pm so when I get in there I will physically go to the beach and see what is happening with the wind at about 10am or 1030am and then text Brian who in turn can put out a post on here…so those who can make the trip out by 11am should be here in time for a good ride…with low tide not untill 3:45pm or so. so if we are down there by 2pm we could have a good 4 hours….. lets see..

commenter

I think I get the award for the most responses to a post…….

commenter

Good idea. Being me, I will probably change my mind if wind picks up tomorrow morning.

Why is my hobby not bowling!!!

commenter

Because bowling sucks…and the most exciting thing that could happen during bowling is if you drop the ball on your foot.

commenter

Well, I have seen guys slip, fall, and go farther down the lane than the ball… :D

There will be NOTHING here in DC this weekend. Wind predictions here are far less than what WW is expecting to see. Definitely a skunked weekend for me, unless I make the drive, which I am willing to do. But I may not have a rear axle bolt. Trying to get that replaced, but it might not arrive until late tomorrow, or next week, hard to say at this point.

I’ll keep my eyes on the weather report, and I might come down with Brian if he does, but I would have to get to his place first. Which is another 2hr drive for me. We’ll see what happens…

commenter

Theres always snowboarding. Bear Creek passes are 25 bucks till they close. Anyone up for some down hill?

commenter

Go by “furlongs” and not “Mister Popincollins”?

Well I guess it would be easier….just lacks that certain something.

Thanks Dillion – I’ll shoot you an email. Where do you go around Philly? I was thinking Belmont Plateau (kite festivile location), Lemon Hill Mansion and the Comunity College grounds in the NE.

commenter

3hr 35 minute drive for me. Tempting actually. If it werent so far away, I wouldnt mind paying 25 dollars to do some downhill… Let me ask the wife, and see what she thinks…

commenter

Ragden, if you need a bolt fast check out Mcmaster Carr. They have distribution points everywhere and typically have parts delivered in one day. I have received packages from them on the same day (without requesting or paying for expedited service). Their web interface kicks tail. http://www.mcmaster.com/

commenter

Can you guys believe that I slept over 15 hours yesterday? I think it’s my personal record.

commenter

I am on stand by for a day trip..from NY to WW.
Either day. I had this glamorous idea that if there was no wind at all
I could get Laurie to bring her paddle board to WW and we could get two people on each board and therefore have a paddle board race! However I would really like to run up and down the beach with my RAGE!!
Things are little crazy at the moment so I wont be able to get out for a while either.
If there turns out to be wind, a call/text would be good any time, I don’t care as long as there’s a little wind involved!

commenter

Were you dreaming of bowling Brian over those 15 hours?

commenter

Paddle board is a good idea but I don’t think not many people have wetsuit. Low tide is late so I will give you a call or text you if wind changes.

I can’t remember what I was dreaming. I was tired so went to bed little after 3 pm yesterday. Thought it would be an hour or two nap. Next time when I opened my eye, it was 9pm. I thought, “man, I am still tired” and didn’t even bother to get up. Next time, I didn’t want to wake up but nature called. It was 6 am this morning. I was thinking “darn, I have to go to work soon.” Then went back to bed.

And I was late to work this morning……. Guess why….. I over-slept :)

commenter

LBJ, you are a winner with now 58 comments ;) . I will still try to get to Wildwood, but probably I will have made my decision tonight, Bear Creek not so much for me for now although end of the season is creeping on us. I sometimes do Bear Creek at night after work a 6-10 session and a 10-11 bar session in the lodge…. snobdr I’ll keep you posted if I do….

commenter

As of right now, I’d say I wont be there. If conditions change, and the winds pick up, I’ll make the drive. But since its 4hrs, I wont be driving down same day…

Comment Number 60!

commenter

Hey, Its about 9am. I will be heading to Wildwood in about 10 mins for work.. Soon as I get there, just for the hell of it, I will go to North Beach to check the wind.. As of right now, looking outside and checking Accu Weather web report for Wildwood today,,,,it looks crappy. No Wind predicted higher than 8 mph and the direction actually switched up abit also now reporting East and a little NE. The temps are reported to be around 43 degrees at most and also there is rain mixed in here and there.. Sorry to say but I think we should ‘ABORT THE MISSION FOR THIS WEEKEND’ Even tomorrow does not look any better. How about we check on conditions for next weekend? Also if everyone could sound off here letting us know that everyone got this message…I would feel bad if someone showed up for nothing today especially when you all have long rides.

commenter

Joe, please keep us update how it looks today and I would get better, I would love to come over tomorrow…

commenter

Hey,,,I am here now,,,was on North Beach about 5 mins ago. Its now 9:45am the wind speed was about 4 to 5 mph at best….if something changes I will text Brian so he can post.. The weather for tomorrow could always change so we will keep an eye on that.

commenter

1pm.. checked again… wind only at about 8mph.. Starting to cloud up abit also.. I think we made good decision…lets check for tomorrow.

commenter

What? no one wants to talk to me now? I feel sooo hurt… Anyway, its 3;20pm now,,, no rain but no wind either…..

commenter

Tomorrow’s predictions arent looking too favorable either. Bummer. Guess we need to start looking at next weekend…

commenter

I still hope that tomorrow it’ll get better, if not be there on Monday, definitely looks ok…

commenter

thanks Joe for the updates, much appreciated you really are an LBJ
working from Wildwood?

commenter

For those of you who doesn’t know yet, ragden hit 38 mph the other day, club record, I believe.

It won’t last long though. In the effort to break the record, I resurrected my desert buggy, aka “Speedy.” It’s been sleeping in a box, waiting for desert ride but I think it’s time to bring it back to life.

Bring it on, wind! You are going down, ragden!

speedy

PS I am ready for tomorrow.

commenter

See thats all I needed,,,just a little appreciation…..Ha ha….just kidding.. It actually started to rain alittle also… Today was a good call…I will check again later on tomorrow… but it looks as if we will have to regroup for next weekend… looks like low tide next weekend is Noon.. 1pm on Sunday… thats pretty good…..

commenter

Unfair advantage. using a race specific buggy… :(

Guess you’ll just have to let me borrow it to break my own record. *wink*wink*

No worries. It was set by accident anyways. I really didnt expect to go that fast, or set any kind of record…

commenter

No worries Ragden, you may borrow mine… besides Brian won’t have any traction with all of that tire shine blinging in that picture :p

This was one LONG thread to catch up on. I pick up my buggy tomorrow YAY!

commenter

picture, please~~~~

commenter

so what we are up to??
just checked the weather.. rain with low winds..
Joe, please let us know how is looks… I may rather come on Monday..

commenter

Its 10:45am Sunday,,,Its raining and its about 40 degrees (cold) and No wind… Dosen’t look good…should we start a new thread? for next weekend? Duloid were you still thinking about tomorrow? I dont know if I would be able to make it down there with work and after work kid stuff…..

commenter

Next weekend it is, for me at least.

commenter

thanks weather man.. :)

tomorrow looks better E wind 9-13mph

if it’ll stay like this (or better), I will go

commenter

http://www.windfinder.com/forecast/north_wildwood_cape_may#

Looks good Monday and Tuesday..but low tide is kind of late…will see..

commenter

Joe how it looks with you on Tuesday?? thinking to skip tomorrow because of chance of rain and come Tuesday afternoon .. 2-3pm..

commenter

Hey Duloid,,, man Im sorry but it doesnt look promising. Tuesday Low tides are 8am and then 8pm. The morning is calling for cold weather, with rain mixed in there with winds about 12mph. Then it is susposed to clear up in the afternoon but you really only have about 3 hrs before low tide and three hours after low tide to ride having enough dry hard sand that is. The winds are only susposed to be around 8mph then. I dont think it would be worth your long drive for that….taking into consideration that it will be dark by about 7pm that may only give you about an hour and half to ride if that. My schedule is pretty much booked up till the weekend again. If you are planning on coming down I will gladly keep you up to date with the weather report even on that day to let you know what its doing…..

commenter

I was just thinking,, if anyone has any more posts lets put them on the new post about next weekend so you dont have to scroll all the way down on this one…..
