Hey whats happening this coming weekend? I think low tide is good this Sunday isn’t it? I think its around 1:30pm . Anyway another question… My cousin is thinking about getting into the kites and buggying.. However he is a big boy…..well he is in his 30′s but he weighs about 300lbs and is about 5 foot 8 inches tall so I told him I wasn’t sure he would get into a buggy…. Who knows the deal? And what about Sunday?

Winds on sunday are predicted to be out of the west. Not the greatest for WildWood I would think. If you think its worth coming out, I might make the drive, though I was planning on hanging around in town with my cousin. Really wish the weather was favorable for Saturday. Tide is good, winds look good, rain and lightning not so good. If not for the rain and lightning I would drive up Friday night… with the only problem being that I dont have a place to stay, and dont have the money for a night in a hotel…. otherwise I’d be there….
Hey Ragden,,, I agree with you,,,,Saturday I have too much to do to make it down there,,,I was not sure what Sunday looked like but you are right if the winds are out of the West thatw would not be any good…I was checking my weather site for Saturday and it was saying winds were SE all day in the high 20s like 25 and 27 mph. You would need a small kite for that,, and we always find if they predict 25mph winds then we see 35mph winds….you know it dosen’t get much better than SE winds…….but everything else is too iffy… we may have to wait,, unless the guru “Don” says different…we should keep an eye on the report for Sunday,,,, maybe it will get good….
Talked to Don earlier this evening. He isnt heading down, and I dont blame him. The reports from wunderground are saying rain, thunder, and lightning. Sounds like a BLAST! Right?! Literally, eh? Nah, I have to pass on this weekend. And next weekend, I’ll be heading out to Cali for a week. Maybe after I get back… heh. Need to get a small kite for those big wind days… Last weekend was fun as hell… but crazy…
I know Don said the same to me.
I was still thinking going out on Sunday, I checked the weather on weather.com and they’re saying it is going to be nice and sunny on Sunday
Will keep you posted, or will just show up
Wrong wind directions though… I’ll be in DC hoping we have enough wind to play with.
winds spiked in DC… not sure what it went up to… but my 3.5 was nearly overpowering me…
Hey, My son and I went down to Apollo beach,, wildwood crest. The wind was not bad, enough for my 3meter and my son was messing with the 1.5 on his landboard.. It was really nice,, temperture was good,,, the direction was alittle off. It was NW to mostly SW… so it was not worth anyone driving down here,,, so good call on your parts… But for me and the 10 minute drive it was worth it. Don I tried out the new handles,, and they work good,, no problem getting used to them..
Sounds like fun. What new handles are you using?
I am not sure of the name of them,,, I am not home right now,,,but they are the ones that are shapped different so the powerlines are not between your fingers…..go on Dons website and you can see them………
Oh… the HQ Ultra’s. I tried them on my Pansh one day. Felt a bit odd. Biggest thing I didnt like was the lack of stake loops. I see that they put the kite killers on the back of the handles in the picture… did you bother to attach any? If so, where?
I had the kite killers already on my kite,,,I was able to leave them right where they were before. I just took off the old handles and attached the new ones,, where I had my killers was above the lines from the new handles and they worked just fine.
Oh, okay. I know I had some issues cause I was putting brand new Kite-Killers on the back end of it, and they weren’t working so good. I probably wasnt putting them in the right spot. Now that I think about it, I am pretty sure I can get it to work the way I want. They seemed like nice handles, generally speaking. A little expensive, but I can see where they might be pretty nice…
