Good Times

Quite the eventful day yesterday.

April 29th 2009 | Posted by Todd

We started off celebrating Corey’s birthday on the buggies flying at Solomon’s. Winds gusting strong, we were really turning and burning that field up. A personal best for myself, I did my first wheelie 180. Yes, a full on looking at the sky wheelie while rotating backwards into a 180. PKD 3.5 in a lull re-energized behind me :D

While traveling away from the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge (with MP3 player jamming) I heard the explosion. Turned around to find a large plume of smoke, and began packing up in the event of evacuation. Secondary explosions went off and things were heating up, so time to go. Come to find out that the large pier behind us was fully engulfed. Got some video, it can be found here

Yesterday marked our 5th day in a row on the buggies in that field having a blast. Happy Birthday Boy! I’m worn out…

Happy Birthday, Corey. Just don’t forget us when you become a National Buggy Champion :)

Todd, great accomplishment. Any chance you got that on video?

All, we should give Buggyman Award to Todd.

Sound like a bit of a crazy day. How far from the field was this fire?

Happy Birthday Corey!

Hope to see you guys tearing up the beach in the near future. :)

I wish I got that on video!! After it happened I just looked at the kite making sure it was down then looked at Corey and asked him “did that just happen?” He saw everything.

Michael, pull it up on google map.. I’m guessing 1500 feet.

Wow.
Happy Birthday Corey!

I really liked near the end of the video when the emergency vehicle screams by with a boat on the back. How often do you see something like that?

Thankfully not that often Dillon, This is one of our newest boats from Ridge. We live in Ridge right on the main road pretty close to the fire house. It’s not too often but, we see it from time to time.
