Joe… man.. Thats just not even fair. I think we all figured you might make an appearance if your busy scheduled allowed for it…

My mom, and sister, will be out here in DC during that week. Tides are right, now if the winds cooperate, we will totally be there. Just waiting on wind predictions….

I would be willing to say that Jason will show up also, after he is found somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean from our ride today in the storm winds……not really we bagged it,,,,to freaking windy,, it would have been suicide. But anyway I saw Jasons two sail karts,,, pretty cool,,,and big…he is working on another homemade kart,,,,the mast is going to be around 28 feet high,,,,its the giant of all sailkarts,,,,he may actually have it done for next weekend………he said he will try to post some photos of it.

Guess you guys found your “Limitastions”.
Good Choice.
I might be doing Wildwood Saturday the 3rd to hook Mike up with a Beamer for his sister.
Winds are supposed to be WNW 18, low tide 6:00 so we can get some afternoon rides in.

Hello,

Just found this site, I am traveling up to Wildwood this weekend to check things out for new locations to buggy. We are from Southern Maryland and look forward to meeting new people that are into craze of buggy. Is there a place where I can read up on some rules of Wildwood? In general, is North Wildwood the only place I can buggy, or can travel down to area around the roller coaster?

I have it set up on the barrows right now and I am looking for hard packed sand. Suggestions? Thanks for your time, first post and all.

Talked it over with the family, and I would say, that right now, if the wind forecast stays over 15+ for Saturday, we will all be there. Cant wait for some decent winds to fly… Tried to fly today, and the winds kept dying on us. Got a couple runs in… but couldnt get my sister into the buggy. Every time she got near… the winds died…

Cant wait to get back on the beach with decent winds. :)

Hey Todd, Welcome. If your looking for info on the “Wildwoods” as far as kiting, buggying and such,,, this is the only place to read about it. I am from Wildwood,,,and I and Jason are the only locals that that are into power kiting here. Jason is listed as “Justbugn” This is a great place to buggy, fly the kites, kitesurf, landboard, blokart. Depending on the tides, winds, wind direction all of this determines where you should go while your here. And as far as rules,,,as I said there are only two of us local and about 25 total from out of town that buggy here. The municipalities have no real rules about it because most of them have never seen it before,,,there are rules about flying kites in the summer season but even that is not really enforced. We use our common sense,,, dont fly near people,,, stay off sand dunes and everything else to keep it safe. you can fly and ride here in just about any wind direction. There is an area we call North Beach which is great at low tide for North East winds or South West winds…keep an eye on the posts here,,, “Don” is our gurue of kiting and he may be coming down here tomorrow and meeting up with a few of us,,,”Ragden” is actually from the Washington D.C. area and he may be here also,,,the wind direction will determine where we will be.. I can tell you that if the wind is NE, SW, S, we will be at North Beach which is located at 2nd and Ocean Aves in North Wildwood. SE or NW winds we will be in Wildwood Crest at the “Fishing Pier” which is located at Crocus and the beach. The tide tomorrow is low around 4pm or so so we will be down there most likely around 2pm,,, but check here to see what people are doing.

Hey LBJ!!, Good info you gave here.. I already sent an email to Todd, so I hope we’ll see him soon. I won’t be able to get down this week end, but next one I will….

Have fun!!!!!!!

Hey Jesse,,, good,,,it looks as if next weekend will be better because of the tide schedule but tomorrow so far is predicting North West winds at about 15mph so it may be good with the exception of the late low tide,,, We should be able to get at least a short ride in, and it appears that Don and Mike have to meet to get some equipment so I will talk with you later….

commenter

Yes, I picked next week end because of the tides, just hoping on wind now..

I saw that Don was coming down this week end as well….

Have fun, be safe!

Thanks for the information all, just the meat and potato?s I was looking for. So I take it the small wheelbarrow tires will work then? I should be rolling into town hopefully by 10 or so, looks to be about a 5 hour commute.

Hope to see some people tomorrow.

Winds are looking good. I’ll be driving out with my wife, sister, and mom. We’ll probably leave DC around 8-10 putting us at the beach between 12 and 2. I like being early, so I’ll probably be standing out there on that smidgen of beach trying to figure out if i have room to ride or not.

Looking forward to meeting the new folks!
