Fixing line stretch

NJ Buggy Club (main) members,

I considered myself a kite-holic and take good care of my kite stuff. Despite my effort to keep everything nice, clean, and new, I found out last week that two of my kite lines are badly stretched. I am sure it will eventually happen to you guys (later than sooner) so I would like to share with you guys how I fix those lines.

Here are four pictures:

Lines streched
Stretch: It show how much line was stretched

line cut
Cut: Cut in the middle.

move
Move: Once they are separated, you should be able to slide outer cover freely. Move outer cover where you want it to be. Leave the excess line at the end for now

Sawing
Saw: Saw them back. After complete, cut the excess line and burn (carefully) the end with a lighter.

So far, I was tying knots to shorten them but this way, it’s cleaner and stronger (knots make line weaker from what I heard).

Let me know if you have any questions.
