Lucky ones: Brian, Don, Jesse, Joe and Joey (LBJ’s son)
I dare to say that it was one of the best sessions at Wildwood. Wind stayed above 25mph all the time, direction was NE, perfect for North Wildwood.
We started 1 ish pm Sunday. I pulled out my 2.5M Rage, Don and Jesse, 2M Beamer and Joe something less than 2M kite. Wind was strong and steady enough for me to ride on soft sand. It was like buggy offroad, fun fun fun.
Later, we hooked up Don’s buggy to my buggy for Joey’s tandom ride. He said it was his first time buggy ride. I can say that we gave him a good first impression
Thanks to Jesse, LBJ and I tried a blowcart and I WANT ONE!!! Only if I can convince Jennie…
Thanks all for taking care of my dog, Jake while I was riding. He is a trooper, I have to say. Most of time, he was running around on the beach, chasing kites but yet refused to rest. I was so tired that I had to wake him up this morning for his bathroom break
Thanks LBJ for pretzels. Good stuff, always.
For those of you who didn’t make it, sorry you guys missed a great session. Don and Joe took some pictures and videos. Hope to see some of them here to prove how much fun we had.

Man~ the more I do it, the more I want it!
Great time indeed. Barnes, Mike and I got there 2nd street @ around 9 am. Within 30 min, wind started to “fill” in. LBJ showed up soon, then Luke and his brother Andy. Then Don and later, Greg.
I was flying Don’s Neo 11M pretty much all day. Later I tried Montana IV 7M. Good kite. Other rode with 5M size buggy kites.
Wind was about 13mph @ peak I think then lower later afternoon. We all packed up @ around 5 pm. Thank goodness for Luke’s sun block cream
At the end, Greg, LBJ, Mike, Barnes and I stopped by @ Sonic for greasy buggers. Yummi! Perfect way to end a great buggy day (at least for me
I just realized that there are some last comments on previous meeting post. Sorry that I couldn’t respond on time. I will make sure to update on our future gathering posts regarding when, where and who.
Anybody took some pictures? I know LBJ did some video. Hope his camera had a memory card in

Surprise, surprise! LBJ and I did a sneak preview session @ Wildwood beach yesterday evening, August 24. It wasn’t easy but we made it happen.
I arrived our NJ Buggy Club spot @ around 4:30 pm. Joe showed up a little later. It was crowded of course and our plan was to wait until life guards are gone.
While we were waiting, Joe took my 8M depower kite for a spin. Joe, seriously, you did better than most kiters who spent a lot of money and time. I know you are not a big fan of water but it would be shame that if you don’t use that skill in water.
Ok, we felt like we waited long enough so I went out with 12M depower. While I was going through some beach-goers, I thought “Hmmm, maybe this isn’t such a good idea.” My session didn’t last long. Wind direction wasn’t good (almost East) and there were still some people left on the beach. I came back in shortly.
Since wind was not favorable and there were still some obstacles(?), Joe and I decided to move to LBJ place. We packed up quickly and rushed to LBJ spot as we are running out of time. When we got there, there was definitely less people. I pulled out my depower 12M and Joe, I think, 5M buggy kite. I was landboarding and Joe was buggying. Barely enough wind to move around. I tried Joe’s buggy with 12M depower kite and had a blast (sorry Joe for stealing your precious buggy time but I couldn’t resist
At the end, it was too dark to see by-standers so we called it a day. It was probably a good hour session. If you ask me, an hour session at the best beach in the middle of the season? Totally worth it.
Now I got taste of it, I want more. Can’t wait to buggy ALL DAY in fall.
Joe, I am thinking your next kite should be a “depower” kite
