Just curious if anyone has an ideas when we are looking at doing this again? I know some folks are doing some long-term planning and looking at dates. Does anyone have any ideas of when we are going to do this? I know the Apollo doesnt open until May 1st (just got their newsletter yesterday in the mail). The Days Inn of Wildwood gave me their card when I was last there and offered to give group rates. I have their contact information and can make the call, but I have this sneaking suspicion, they are going to wonder at numbers. I can see what I can do though. They did knock 10 bucks off our room for the night just from the discussion we had about it…

For those of you, who missed Sunday session…… poor thing Here is how our 1st downwinder went.

We (me, LBJ, ragden, and Todd & Corey) started at South fence early Sunday morning. Later, Duloid joined us at fishing pier. Wind started NW, 15mph + and very gusty. By the time we passed fishing pier, it shifted to WNW, making it harder to go back South direction.

We made all the way to North beach and wide open all flat surface was greeting us. It was the best beach condition I’ve ever seen in North beach. No water in the middle, no pot holes but all flat surface all the way to water.

By the time we got to North beach, wind was straight West, still 15mph but much steadier than before, making it best condition for North beach. Ankur (new member) joined us at North beach.

As usual, we had a nice lunch picnic between sessions. We rode until we ran out of room due to tide.

I dare to say that we utilized wind and beach 100% that day, no waste! It’s amazing that we were able to cover the whole Wildwood beach that day. Downwinder rocks!

A couple of notes:

1. Petra walked from fishing pier to North beach.?? WOW

2. Jen made a surprised visit to North beach

3. This is not very important but ragden set a club speed record, 41.5mph but who cares.

ragden’s GPS Track

Hey guys,
Not much to report here.
The Landsailers packed up and moved out yesterday and the North California BloKart Club moved in.
There are a couple Buggers here, NABX doesn’t start till Tuesday.
Most of the Buggyers that come early, maybe a dozen or so, go to the prevent at Lake Superior and show up here Tuesday.
Superior is a remote Lake Bed about 40 miles North of Barsto CA. It is a beautiful quiet place with unbeliable stars.
Weather wise, Thursday winds were 30, gusts over 45, Friday 13 in the afternoon, got some nice BloKart rides in, Saturday there wasn’t enough wind to do anything but enjoy the nice temps (78) and sunshine.
Today we are back to 20 plus with gusts over 40, went out on Ivanpah and watched two high speed BloKart races.
Looking forward to Monday with wind around 13 perdicted for most of the day, temps cooling a bit to 65.
Looks like nice winds the rest of the week, fingers crossed.

Dudes,
Not to make you envious but I’m at a place where the wind direction is always good.
Here on Ivanpah Dry Lake Bed all it takes is a little wind and you can cruise for miles.
Just got back from Pismo Beach in CA. It’s the only beach in CA that you can drive on and camp.
Beautiful place to hang out except Kite Buggying and BloKarting are not allowed, Can’t have it all.
I felt the need to Buggy so I only stayed 3 days. Now I’m back in Primm for 20 days to get my Buggy and BloKart Fix.
The Landsailers have a big event this coming week followed by 5 days of the CA BloKart Club and the the NABX.
BTW Blokarts has a factory authorised sale going on to celabrate Ivanpah Race Week. It’s a rare oppertunity to save 10% on all BloKart products. As an added savings I (LandsailerShop.com) pay shipping for NJ Buggy Club members. Sale ends April 2nd.
In the next couple weeks I will try to keep you all update on life in Buggy Paradise now that I have constant internet access.
Is this Paradise or what?
Here’s a photo of the view out my motel window at Buffalo Bill’s. Ivanpah is in the background.

Ok this is the deal…..Don supplied me with some dates that were looking good for our spring bash. There were some in April but Don can’t make it then and some others couldn’t make it that time either. Our other option, which I think we should take, would be May 8th, 9th and 10th which is a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The following are the tides,,, Friday low tide is about 1:30pm, Saturday is about 2:20pm and Sunday is about 3:00pm. With a good 3 hrs of ridable, yes ridable is a word,,(now) on either side of the low tide??that would give us pleanty of time. Also the International Kite Festival is this weekend. We were talking about camping for the weekend,,, I talked to a friend of mine last night, who owns a local campground, only 15 minutes from North Wildwood beach and 10 minutes away from Crest beach. They open in April and I think I can get special rates for people with our group. I would have to let her know how many would be staying and what nights,,,Friday, Saturday or both… They also have small cabins you can rent for those who dont like tents… real nice place.. This will be a great time as always… here is a link to the campground website. / So how about some feedback so we can plan some more…..

Todd is hoping his boy will be better (we do too) but I am not sure where Todd will be kiting, or playing with his kite buggy, Corrie get well!!!

I recently got permission to fly at a SOD farm right outside the Beltway in Maryland.

If you arent too far from DC, do a search on maps.google.com for the following address: 920 john brown road, centreville, md 21617.

It is probably one of the largest places I have ever seen for riding, short of the beach.

There is a waiver required before flying there, and we need to be mindful of the location of freshly seeded grass, but otherwise it could be a pretty amazing place to fly. Going to do the first real session there this weekend. If you are interested, please drop me an e-mail at nikey_22@hotmail.com. I have the waivers and the contact information.

Thanks.
